These are a set of courses designed to enable participants to perform an internal audit of part of a laboratory management system (LMS) based on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (or equivalent). It also enables you to report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the management system in accordance with ISO 19011 and to contribute to the continual improvement of the LMS.

Course Objectives

  • Explain the process-based LMS model for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the role of an internal audit in the maintenance and improvement of an LMS – with reference to the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle
  • Explain the role and responsibilities of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up an internal LMS audit in accordance with the principles given in ISO 19011 where appropriate
  • Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of an LMS to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO/IEC 17025 and in accordance with the principles given in ISO 19011 where appropriate
