The International Training Centre on Food Safety and Nutrition (ITC – FSAN) is a state-of-the-art training facility located at the heart of suburban Mumbai, the financial capital of India, in a sylvan setting of 3.5 acres in the premises of Export Inspection Agency Mumbai.
ITC-FSAN is a unique facility in India, built on a global public-private alliance between food regulatory bodies of India Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Export Inspection Council (EIC) and Global Food Safety Partnership (GFSP), an initiative of the World Bank. The alliance connects prominent stakeholders coming from academic and research institutions who have been partnered with a purpose to ensure global safety and nutritional quality of food in the supply chain.
An international approved curriculum has been developed to cater to the need of different segments of food professionals and business operators, including those from other countries and acquainting them with the state-of-the-art accredited food-testing methods in compliance with international standards and procedures. The ITC-FSAN is designed to impart education that will ensure safety and quality of food throughout the chain until it reaches consumer, with hands-on practical training on food safety and nutritional analysis in accordance with existing national and international food safety standards and regulations.
